When you let yourself be ultimately free and vulnerable, that is when you will grow as a performer and as a person. If I don’t have music then I have nothing else to hold on to. Music is truly in my soul, and I can’t live without it. I know that there are so many young people in the country and in the world that feel the same way about their own gift. Project Heartbeat encourages it’s student’s to relieve any stress, anger, or emotions by expressing themselves through performing arts. Being surrounded with other people who know how you feel, and who feel the same way creates a family atmosphere for those who have never experienced one.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT US

I want to thank you and your organization for taking an interest in Emily and her talent. It has been a great opportunity for her to participate in this program. We are a family of 6 (recently 7 as we are caring for my nieces newborn) and money is quite often a struggle, especially when it comes to extracurricular activities. Emily had been treated as an outcast amongst her peers, and after taking in the baby she became a social introvert. Before hearing about Project Heartbeat Emily wasn’t able to participate in programs where she fit and could develop her social skills. This program helped Emily to adjust to the mixed family dynamics at home and she has blossomed into a leader in activities at her school. As a mother, I am very thankful for these types of resources which make it possible for my children to expand their experiences in different areas of arts and educational activities, that otherwise I would be unable to financially provide for. Thank you again!
